Baron Philippe de Rothschild acquired Château Clerc Milon in 1970 and embarked on the task of renovating the estate, continued by his daughter Baroness Philippine from 1988. Their values and know-how are now embodied in the third generation of the family, represented by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild (Chairman and CEO), Camille Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild, who continue to develop Château Clerc Milon with the same enthusiasm and quest for modernity. Thanks to the work carried out over the last 50 years and more, and with the help of a dedicated team endowed with cutting-edge technical facilities, Château Clerc Milon is more than ever a benchmark for excellence in the Médoc.
Château Clerc Milon, Grand Cru Classé in 1855, extends over 41 hectares in a single block in Pauillac, on the Mousset rise overlooking the Gironde estuary. This privileged terroir of deep gravelly sands over a clay-limestone subsoil benefits from a temperate microclimate shaped by maritime influences. The vineyard, averaging 47 years of age, brings together five grape varieties, including a historic parcel of Carmenère planted in 1948. Acquired in 1970 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild and developed by his descendants, the estate stands today as a reference of Médoc excellence, producing balanced, elegant, and precise wines of remarkable ageing potential.
