At Château de la Roulerie, the wines are distinguished by their balance and freshness. They possess a delicate texture, fine tannins, and a precise aromatic profile typical of Anjou. The impression on the palate is elegant, highlighting the aging potential of these wines. The expression of Chenin, the flagship grape variety, is particularly successful, offering beautiful complexity.
In the Germain family (Thierry Germain and his Domaine des Roches Neuves in Saumur-Champigny need no introduction), wine is the common thread! Originally from Bordeaux, but truly in love with the Anjou region, the father, Bernard Germain, acquired the Château de la Roulerie in 1996—an 18th-century building surrounded by 40 hectares of delicate Chenin and Cabernet Franc. His son, Philippe, joined him in 2001 to take over and initiate numerous transformations, notably the conversion to organic farming and the adoption of biodynamic viticulture in 2011. Accompanied by his wife, Philippe crafts wines of remarkable delicacy and delicious indulgence!
