Clau de Nell

Clau de Nell

Clau de Nell offers vibrant Loire wines, defined by a biodynamic approach. They possess a beautiful freshness and a silky texture, particularly in the Anjou cuvées. The red wines, often crafted from Cabernet Franc and Grolleau, offer fruity substance and elegant tannins. Balance is a constant, with controlled acidity that promises good aging potential. The aromatic profile is precise and persistent.

Château history

The Clau de Nell estate, located in Ambillou-Château in Anjou, found a new lease on life when it was acquired by Anne-Claude Leflaive. This iconic figure from Puligny-Montrachet, a pioneer of biodynamics, wished to invest her talent and passion into this Loire terroir.
Following the passing of Anne-Claude Leflaive in 2015, her husband, Christian Jacques, took over the management of the estate. He continues her work in the same spirit, supported by a team that works with rigor and in accordance with biodynamic principles. The vineyard, whose grape varieties focus heavily on Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, and Chenin Blanc, produces red and white wines that express the singularity of this terroir. Clau de Nell has thus established itself as an essential destination in the Loire.
