Château Clos de Sarpe represents the warm and captivating side of Saint-Émilion wines. This wine estate is managed and vinified by Jean-Guy Beyney and his wife, with the utmost respect for the soil, the vines, and the grapes. Château Clos de Sarpe directs and develops its production through sustainable farming, free of chemical additives, listening to the terroir and the rhythm of nature. The result is wines that combine power and complexity. Devoid of chemical additives, these wines naturally possess very ripe tannins and organoleptic qualities that allow them to age effortlessly for several decades.
Formerly owned by the Baron de Foussat, Château Clos de Sarpe was purchased by Jean Beyney in 1923. In the 1950s, his son took over the operation, followed by the third generation with Jean-Guy Beyney, who remains at the head of the estate today. With the help of his wife, he oversees the winemaking with the utmost seriousness and commitment to quality, offering us a top-flight Clos de Sarpe every year. Château Clos de Sarpe is, above all, an independent, human-scale estate founded on respect for the land and a constant pursuit of perfection, for the pleasure of fine wine lovers. In 1997, Jean-Guy Beyney decided to produce a second wine at the property: Charles de Sarpe, appreciated for its elegance, suppleness, and highly aromatic finish.
