Domaine André Perret offers precise and elegant wines. We appreciate the freshness of the whites, their delicate texture, and their complex aromatic expression, often floral and fruity. The reds, particularly in Saint-Joseph, offer beautiful substance, fine tannins, and a pleasant freshness. The overall balance is always remarkable, with interesting aging potential. The wines reflect a meticulously tended terroir and rigorous winemaking.
It is in Verlieu, a hamlet of Chavanay, that André Perret has chosen to express his talent as a winemaker. After scientific studies, he returned to his family’s land in the early 1980s to develop a viticultural business. The estate, initially dedicated to fruit trees, gradually evolved to focus entirely on the vine.
The estate now spans about ten hectares, located on the right bank of the Rhône. The vines are planted on steep, terraced hillsides that characterize the landscapes of the appellation. These plots, which are difficult to access, require significant manual labor. André Perret favors an environmentally respectful approach, adapting his practices to the specificities of each terroir. Controlling yields is also a priority, in order to guarantee the quality and expression of his wines. The estate specializes in white wines, notably with the famous Coteau de Chéry and Clos Chanson cuvées from the Condrieu AOC.
