Domaine Chandon de Briailles

Domaine Chandon de Briailles

Domaine Chandon de Briailles offers wines with a silky texture and remarkable balance. The substance is often dense, carried by fine tannins and a persistent freshness. They feature a complex aromatic profile, oscillating between red fruits and spicy notes. The impression on the palate is elegant, with definite aging potential, particularly for the Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses.

Château history

Domaine Chandon de Briailles, firmly established in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is a family estate whose history is intertwined with that of Burgundy winemaking. Its name stems from the union of two families: the Chandons, wine merchants, and the Briailles, landowners.
A major turning point occurred in the 19th century when Count Armand de Nicolay inherited the estate through his mother, a Chandon. The de Nicolay family then fully committed themselves to viticulture, shaping the estate as it exists today. The vineyard spans approximately 14 hectares, distributed across the prestigious appellations of Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses, and Savigny-lès-Beaune.
Today, Domaine Chandon de Briailles is still managed by the de Nicolay family, who continue to uphold ancestral expertise. Notably, the estate has adopted environmentally friendly practices, with biodynamic certification.
