Domaine des Roches Neuves

Domaine des Roches Neuves

At Domaine des Roches Neuves, the reds express a Loire Cabernet Franc, with vibrant fruit (blackcurrant, raspberry) and floral and spicy nuances. Thierry Germain’s contemporary approach favors the ripeness of the Cabernet and aging in various vessels. The whites, made from Chenin Blanc, offer freshness and aromatic power, with a floral nose and a balanced palate. The red wines display beautiful freshness and supple tannins, while the whites are distinguished by their crystallinity and purity.

Château history

Domaine des Roches Neuves, in Anjou, is inseparable from the personality of Thierry Germain. His story is one of returning to his roots and a quest for excellence. Although he comes from a Bordeaux family established in the wine world, his initial career path took him away from viticulture for a time.
In 1992, Thierry Germain made a fresh start by acquiring a Loire estate with origins dating back to the 19th century. The wines of Domaine des Roches Neuves, particularly the red Saumur-Champigny and the white Saumur, quickly acquired a strong identity. Driven by a constant desire to improve, Thierry Germain committed to an ambitious qualitative approach, with a gradual conversion to biodynamics and the use of horse-drawn plowing on certain plots. This respectful approach to the terroir results in wines of great purity. Today, the estate spans several hectares and produces red wines made exclusively from Cabernet Franc, as well as whites crafted from Chenin Blanc.
