Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive offers wines with a silky texture and remarkable balance. A beautiful freshness underpins a complex structure, carried by a persistent saline minerality. The impression on the palate is vibrant, typical of the Chardonnays of Puligny-Montrachet. Clear aging potential is evident.

Château history

Jean-Baptiste and Benoît manage this family estate with brilliance. Their father, Jean-Claude, handed down a beautiful 10-hectare vineyard to them, composed of the finest terroirs in Saint-Aubin, as well as some notable plots in Chassagne-Montrachet—such as the famous Blanchot-Dessus, a close neighbor to the Bâtard-Montrachet grand cru—and a plot in the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet appellation. Produced from perfectly ripe harvests, the wines are vinified using indigenous yeasts. The aging process is extended, with the wines spending two winters in the cellar. They display a profile that is more than just tense, yet the harmonies prove to be perfectly managed. The reds are effectively crafted but do not reach the stature of the whites.
