Mas Conscience offers wines of great finesse, prioritizing freshness and indulgence. The red wines feature a beautiful texture, silky tannins, and balanced substance. They often display a complex aromatic profile, with notes of red fruit and spices. The Terrasses du Larzac offer a beautiful expression of the terroir, with persistent freshness on the palate and interesting aging potential.
Mas Conscience, founded in 2003 by Geneviève and Laurent Vidal, is a wine estate rooted in the terroir of the Terrasses du Larzac, specifically in the commune of Saint-Jean-de-Fos. After leaving their previous estate, this winemaking couple wished to return to their childhood lands to create a place that reflects their vision.
Mas Conscience spans about ten hectares of vines cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming. The vineyard is made up of a mosaic of terroirs spread across several communes: limestone plateaus in Puéchabon, clay-limestone soils in Aniane, and rolled pebbles in Saint-Jean-de-Fos. In 2024, a new chapter begins for Mas Conscience with the acquisition of the estate by Roman Kocholl. The new owner's ambition is to preserve and develop the estate's potential, supported by a renewed team, with Audrey Bonnet Koenig as General Manager. The cellar, located beneath the house, was designed according to gravity-flow principles and equipped with sleek, concrete vats.
