Wine Commentary

The Maury wines do not lack personality, in a slender and expressive style, on the side of spices and sun-drenched candied fruits.

History of the estate

The estate was born from the partnership of three former Maury cooperatives and the young generation of the Domaine de la Rectorie, in Banyuls. Joseph Parcé, who joined in 2007, manages the estate today. The key players have been established since 2001 in the spacious premises of a former cooperative cellar, but a new wine storehouse is under construction in Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet. The vineyard is located in the north-west of the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the highly qualitative altitude sector of the Fenouillèdes.

They produce white wines under the Côtes-du-Roussillon appellation, and of course, Maury. It should now be noted that this refers to sweet wine, as it has been possible since the 2011 vintage to also produce dry Maury in both red and white. "I immediately decided to embrace this and produce all of my reds under the new appellation," explains Joseph Parcé. "Like Banyuls, Maury is a very great terroir and structuring the appellation is a good thing, it's exciting.
