The 2020 Fitou Cuvée Jean Sirven is another awesome wine. Based on 45% Syrah, 45% Carignan, and the balance Grenache, all from clay and limestone soils and aged two years in new oak, it reveals a dense purple hue as well as full-bodied aromas and flavors of cassis, smoked meats, blackberries, graphite, and violets. It's a big, rich, concentrated effort offering fine tannins, a remarkable sense of purity and freshness, and outstanding length. It too is well worth seeking out and should keep for a decade.
