Ripe black cherries, roasted garrigue, leather, and some meaty notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, spicy, savory, complex 2022 that offers ripe, building tannins as well as a great finish. This sun-kissed effort will evolve nicely over the coming 10-12 years.

The delicious 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Hespirides is at eye level with the magnificent 2020. Prominent licorice, cured meat, black cherry and thyme are all nicely delineated. Gently framed by ripe tannins, the 2022 hits the palate with sweet-tasting fruit and closes with a persistent finish.

Crafted from vines planted on sandy, safre soils, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape les Hesperides from La Bastide Saint Dominique offers up aromas of earth, spices, licorice and dark berries despite a shy, closed character. Medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it's structured with a firm tannic frame that concludes into a long, elegant and earthy finish. Comprising an equal blend of Mourvèdre and Grenache Noir, it requires some time to fully express its potential.
