Established in 1612 by the Capuchin monks, the Weinbach Estate, literally "wine stream" in German, owes its current prestige to the Faller family, which is closely tied to this vineyard located on the hill of Kaysersberg. Theodore and Jean-Baptiste Faller, the famous "Faller Brothers" who long adorned the labels of Domaine Weinbach wines, brought the vineyard into their family's heritage in 1898. However, it was indeed Theo, son of the former, who worked towards its irresistible rise. An ardent defender of the Alsace vineyard, which he helped to get recognized by the INAO, Theo Faller spotted in the historic heart of the estate, a five-hectare plot named "Clos des Capucins", a huge potential. Building on a solid foundation, he increased the fame of the family estate while expanding and beautifying it, making the wine of Domaine Weimbach one of the most sought-after bottles in the region. After Theo Faller's death in 1979, his wife, Colette, and his daughters, Catherine and Laurence, succeeded him at the head of the estate, perpetuating the forward march of this beautiful Haut-Rhin vineyard.

This emblematic Alsace estate has, over the years, forged an international reputation thanks to the work and total commitment of Colette Faller, supported by her two daughters Catherine and Laurence. After the successive deaths of Laurence and Colette, Catherine Faller remains at the head of the estate, deploying a rare energy to maintain the quality of the wines at the highest level and keep a warm welcome at the estate. Her son Theo pays a lot of attention to the vineyard, managed biodynamically since 2005 across the entire estate, while Ghislain Berthiot, who has been present for a few years, is in charge of the winemaking. Here you can taste one of the finest expressions of the grand cru Schlossberg, at different levels of maturity. Its clarity and precision amaze us. The muscat is also one of the best defined in all of Alsace. The gewurztraminer finds its favorite terroirs in the surroundings.
