Wine Spectator Tasting Note

A sleeping giant. Dark ruby in color, showing aromas of blackberry, c'pe and green olive, with a hint of mineral. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a supercaressing mouthfeel. Turns to coffee, dark chocolate and berry. Chewy yet balanced. Very, very long in the mouth. The finish is absolutely breathtaking. Best after 2013.

Le domaine Petrus, à Pomerol, est réputé pour ses vins. Il se distingue par son terroir argileux, particulièrement adapté au merlot, cépage unique de la propriété. L'identité de Petrus tient à ce terroir, plus qu'à une structure de château. La famille Moueix a joué un rôle important dans le développement du domaine. Les vins sont issus d'un travail rigoureux de la vigne.
