Rocking levels of ripe red, blue, and black fruits, as well as truffly earth, violets, blood orange, and chocolate, all soar from the 2022 Enclos Tourmaline, another extroverted, sexy, full-throttle Pomerol. I love its balance on the palate, and it has ripe, polished tannins, full body, ample mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's hard to resist today, yet this will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar and shine over the following two decades.

The 2022 Enclos Tourmaline conveys a sense of coolness on the nose, well defined with black plum and just a touch of wild mint. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth entry and fine acidity, although it does not quite deliver the complexity implied by the aromatics. Entirely crafted from Merlot situated between Le Pin and Trotanoy, the 2022 Enclos Tourmaline is a notable success this year. Wafting from the glass with aromas of dark cherries, flowers, iris and cassis, the wine is medium to full-bodied, concentrated, dense, layered and structured. Introverted and slightly austere and possessing a fleshy core of fruit and a long, racy finish, it will require some patience.
