Purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953 and located in the northern portion of Pomerol, the 2023 Château Lagrange (Pomerol) is 100% Merlot from gravelly, clay soils. Solid red and black fruits intermixed with graphite and smoky, tobacco-like nuances emerge from the bouquet, and it's concentrated and nicely built on the palate, with a firmer, denser style, ample tannins, and a great finish. Give it 3-4 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink 2029-2053.

A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot, the 2023 Lagrange offers up aromas of dark berries, plums and cherries mingled with hints of pencil shavings and violets. Medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with good depth, supple tannins and a suave, vibrant profile, it's attractively seamless and complete.
