Bouchard Père & Fils

Bouchard Père & Fils

At Bouchard Père & Fils, one finds a classic Burgundian expression. The red wines offer a silky texture, fine tannins, and a beautiful freshness. The aromatic profile is often focused on red and black fruits, with an elegant complexity. The whites are distinguished by their balance, delicate substance, and aging potential, particularly the Corton-Charlemagne. A sure bet from the Côte de Beaune.

Château history

The house of Bouchard Père & Fils is a Burgundian institution firmly rooted in Beaune. Founded in 1731, it has built a remarkable wine heritage over the generations. Today, Bouchard Père & Fils ranks among the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, with an impressive range of Premiers and Grands Crus spread across the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits.
With nearly 142 parcels and 130 hectares, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the largest landowners in the Côte d'Or. Its annual production amounts to 600,000 bottles. The merchant house has a particularly strong presence in Beaune 1er Cru, where it owns more than 70 hectares. The estate excels in particular within the Beaune appellation, with the famous Premier Cru Beaune Grèves Vignes de l'Enfant Jésus, an iconic cuvée steeped in history. Among the jewels of the Bouchard Père & Fils estate, one also finds prestigious Grands Crus such as the Corton-Charlemagne. The winemaking process remains highly personalized. Very precise work is carried out thanks to around a hundred fermentation vats. Micro-cuvées are thus produced to reflect the slightest nuances of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. On the limestone subsoil of the Côte de Beaune, Chardonnay produces the greatest white wines in the world, in both Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. And these exceptional wines represent only 0.5% of the total production of Burgundy wines.
