Champagne Deutz illustrates a successful marriage of finesse and character. One finds the elegance of Chardonnay balanced by the structure of the Pinots. The classic Deutz cuvées express harmony, freshness, and fullness, offering indulgent champagnes. The prestige cuvées, notably Amour de Deutz, offer remarkable complexity with aging, providing a unique and refined experience.
The Champagne House Deutz was founded in 1838 in Aÿ, in the heart of the Champagne region. Its creators, William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, a wine merchant and a champagne salesman respectively, combined their skills to give birth to a house that would leave its mark on the history of the region.
In its early days, Deutz did not own its own vineyards and focused on purchasing already-bottled cuvées. The house then handled the crucial stages of disgorgement, dosage, and labeling. Throughout the 19th century, the commercial growth was significant. Driven by a long-term vision, the founders' heirs gradually invested in the acquisition of vineyards located in the most prestigious terroirs, notably in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Aÿ. This strategy allowed Deutz to control an increasing share of its supply and to assert its identity. Today owned by the Roederer family, Deutz continues to perpetuate a legacy of quality and expertise under the leadership of Francis Rosset.
