Champagne Jacquesson

Champagne Jacquesson

Champagne Jacquesson offers wines with a vinous texture, often marked by a sharp acidity and great freshness. The overall balance oscillates between tension and substance, with a creamy mousse that coats the palate. The aromatic profile is complex, driven by notes of citrus, white fruits, and a chalky minerality. The finish is persistent, underscored by fine tannins and undeniable aging potential.

Château history

Our wines possess a personality that can vary significantly from year to year, which justifies their specific identification. Thus, Cuvée n° 735, crafted from the 2007 harvest, follows Cuvée n° 734, which was crafted from the 2006 harvest. The weather in 2007 was highly contrasting: it saw the mildest winter since 1960, on par with 1990, and a spring with summer-like temperatures, the warmest in 30 years since 1997. With both of these seasons also experiencing record rainfall, the vigor of the vines was reinforced. Everything changed in the summer, which was the coldest in 10 years and the least sunny in 30 years. These difficult conditions favored the development of mildew and, above all, botrytis starting in July, while the grapes continued to swell. However, under such conditions, our rigorous viticulture produced its best results: the grass cover played its full role in competing with the vine's surface roots, considerably moderating its vigor and slowing the swelling of the berries. Fortunately, on August 25th, fine weather set in for the long term, allowing maturation to finish under good conditions and, most importantly, halting the botrytis attacks. The contrast of the year's weather is reflected in the tasting.
