Dom Perignon

Dom Perignon

At Dom Pérignon, balance is a constant quest, playing on freshness and complexity. The texture often reveals itself to be creamy, with a vibrant acidity that prolongs the tasting experience. One finds a beautiful aromatic expression, sometimes floral, sometimes leaning more towards fruit, with an underlying minerality. The finish is persistent, marked by an elegant bitterness and clear aging potential.

Château history

Dom Pérignon, the jewel of the Moët Hennessy group, embodies the excellence of Champagne through exceptional vintage cuvées. The history of this prestigious house is intimately linked to that of the Abbey of Hautvillers, located in the heart of the Champagne region. According to legend, it was here that Dom Pierre Pérignon, a Benedictine monk, discovered the secret of sparkling winemaking in the 17th century.
While it is known today that Dom Pérignon was not the inventor of the traditional method, he nonetheless contributed to improving production techniques and selecting the finest grapes. Over time, his name has become a symbol of quality and craftsmanship. The Dom Pérignon brand, as we know it today, was created in 1936 by the house of Moët & Chandon, which had the idea of marketing a special cuvée in tribute to the famous monk. Only exceptional years are selected for the creation of this champagne, which is distinguished by its subtle blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Each vintage is unique and reflects the character of its year. Dom Pérignon continues to cultivate its legacy of excellence under the guidance of passionate cellar masters who perpetuate tradition while exploring new creative paths.
