The Egly-Ouriet estate, located in Ambonnay, is a respected name in Champagne. The history of this family estate began after the Second World War, when Francis Égly's grandfather founded the property.
Today, the Egly-Ouriet estate spans approximately 15 hectares of vines. The majority of this heritage, totaling 9.7 hectares, is classified as Grand Cru and spread across the villages of Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay. The remaining vines benefit from the Premier Cru appellation and are located on the terroir of Vrigny, in the heart of the Marne Valley. Francis Égly, who currently manages the estate, is renowned for his mastery of aging and his low-intervention approach. Egly-Ouriet champagnes are only released after many years of maturation on the lees, a practice that contributes to their complexity and finesse. This philosophy of patience and respect for time is reflected in the unique character of the wines produced.
