Château history

The House of Krug, located in Reims, is an iconic figure of Champagne. Since 1843, it has crafted champagnes with a unique style, the result of expertise passed down and enriched through six generations.
The story of Krug is that of one man, Johann-Joseph Krug, driven by a bold vision. Drawing on experience gained at another champagne house, he decided to found his own company with the ambition of creating a champagne with a singular taste. From the rigorous selection of grapes to vinification in small oak barrels, every step is marked by extreme attention and a constant concern for quality. The blending process, a key moment in the creation of champagne, is carried out with meticulous precision. The wines then age for a long time in the house's cellars, thus developing their complexity and finesse. This approach gives Krug champagnes a strong and recognizable identity.
