Vinous Tasting Note

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet La Goujonne Rouge is aged with 80% whole bunch this year. This has an open and expressive bouquet with cranberry and crushed strawberry scents. Fine delineation and focused, the stems are neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip. There is something a little Loire-like on the finish, and I write that not in a negative way, with touches of black pepper on the lingering aftertaste. Very delicious.

About the Producer

About the Producer

Domaine Hubert Lamy, a jewel of Saint-Aubin in Burgundy, has established itself as one of the benchmarks of the Côte de Beaune. Although its origins date back to the 1970s, it was from the 1990s onwards that the estate truly took flight, thanks to a policy of qualitative acquisition and replanting of Chardonnay. Today, Olivier Lamy embodies the soul of the estate, perpetuating the family legacy with an innovative approach. The estate spans some twenty hectares and produces wines sought after for their elegance, depth, and ability to reflect the typicity of their terroirs. Hubert Lamy's wines are distinguished by their expressive purity and minerality, particularly in cuvées such as the Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Derrière Chez Édouard "Haute Densité," a signature of the estate. One also finds beautiful expressions in the Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Clos de la Chatenière and En Remilly, as well as in Chassagne-Montrachet with a plot of old vines in La Goujonne. The rare Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru "Haute Densité" represents the pinnacle of the range, a wine of great finesse. Among the most closely followed cuvées are Domaine Hubert Lamy En Remilly, Domaine Hubert Lamy Derriere Chez Edouard 'Haute Densite', and Domaine Hubert Lamy Criots-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 'Haute Densite'—useful reference points for understanding the identity of the house.
