A blend from the Rozier, Viallière, and Brocarde lieux-dits (all in the northern part of the appellation), the 2020 Côte Rôtie La Bae is an awesome effort loaded with cassis, bacon fat, and liquid violets. Full-bodied, with perfectly integrated new oak, it delivers remarkable richness, depth, and a layered, gorgeous texture. I love it today, yet I suspect it will be even better in 4-5 years, and it should see its 30th birthday in fine form. Drink 2030-2050.
