Grands Echezeaux Grand cru Domaine NOELLAT Georges Bourgogne rouge 1991

Red Burgundy NOELLAT Georges

€396,00 / 75cl inc. VAT | Limited availability

This 1991 Grands Echezeaux Grand cru, the result of a year without any strong historical signals, unfolds a melted tertiary register where black cherry mingles with noble undergrowth. The palate, with remarkable poise, reveals a silky texture and a hint of sweet pepper, testifying to a beautiful liveliness despite its 35 years.

Vinous Tasting Note

The 1991 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru predates Maxime Chuerlin's entry by a couple of decades, of course, and the modus operandi was far different in these days. This has a light, simple nose that is clearly shallower compared to the same wine from DRC. The palate is balanced but I find the tannins hard and unyielding, while the finish is pleasant yet unequivocally short. Drink soon.
