Vinous Tasting Note

Sculpted and precise, the NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 743 Dégorgement Tardif (base 2015) impresses with its tension. There's a touch of reduction that further adds to the wine's freshness. All the elements are so well balanced. Lemon confit, candied ginger, spice and tangerine peel are some of the many nuances that take shape with a bit of air. Extended time on the lees softened this quite nicely. Finished with no dosage. Disgorged: March 2024.

About the Producer

About the Producer

The Champagne Jacquesson estate, anchored in Dizy since the end of the 18th century, is today brilliantly led by the Chiquet brothers. This Champagne house has forged a unique identity, prioritizing the authentic expression of each vintage. Jacquesson has notably made its mark with its numbered 700-series cuvées, a bold approach that contrasts with traditional non-vintage bruts. This philosophy translates into champagnes of character, such as the iconic Cuvée 746 Extra Brut, a true reflection of a single year. The estate also explores the richness of its terroirs with single-plot cuvées such as Dizy Terres Rouges Extra Brut Millésime and Avize Grand Cru Champ Cain Extra Brut. One can also discover remarkable interpretations of specific vineyard sites, like Ay Grand Cru Vauzelle Terme Extra Brut. The Chiquet family has successfully propelled Champagne Jacquesson wines to the rank of a benchmark, sought after by enthusiasts for their finesse, complexity, and profound respect for the Champagne terroir. A signature that never ceases to captivate connoisseurs. Among the most closely followed cuvées are Jacquesson Avize Grand Cru Champ Cain Extra Brut, Jacquesson Ay Grand Cru Vauzelle Terme Extra Brut, and Jacquesson Dizy Terres Rouges Extra Brut Millésime—useful reference points for understanding the house's identity.
