About the Producer

Château Talbot, a vast Saint-Julien estate, perpetuates a history intimately linked to the Médoc. Its name evokes Constable Talbot, an English historical figure whose epic tale still resonates across these lands. Classified as a Fourth Grand Cru in 1855, this estate benefits from a remarkable terroir. The Cordier family acquired the château at the beginning of the 20th century, breathing new life into it to reveal its full potential. Today, Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband continue to write the history of this great Saint-Julien wine. It is said that Constable Talbot was defeated not far from here at the Battle of Castillon, an anecdote that adds a historical dimension to this iconic place. Château Talbot produces a powerful and harmonious red wine, aged for long cellaring, which elegantly expresses the typicity of its terroir. The estate is also renowned for its Caillou Blanc, a remarkable dry white wine from the Médoc, a subtle blend of Sauvignon and Sémillon. Le Connétable de Talbot, the château's second wine, offers a more supple and immediate interpretation of the Talbot style. An ample and refined Saint-Julien, waiting to be discovered. The estate notably works with appellations such as Fourth Growths, which consistently extend its signature.
