About the Producer

The Champagne Clandestin estate is the work of Benoît Doussot, a winemaker of Burgundian origin who fell in love with Champagne and organic viticulture. Based in Landreville, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, this house quickly made a name for itself with its unique style, which fully expresses its terroir. Champagne Clandestin cuvées are crafted from grapes grown using organic farming methods or those in conversion, drawing their distinct character from the Kimmeridgian and Portlandian soils unique to this region. The harvest is manual and fermentations are spontaneous, with the utmost respect for the fruit. Aging in oak barrels or small-volume vessels helps preserve the freshness and purity of the aromas. The Clandestin style is distinguished by its verticality, tension, and aromatic complexity. Among the flagship cuvées are the expressive Clandestin Les Semblables 'Boreal' Brut Nature and Clandestin Les Semblables 'Austral' Brut Nature, as well as the acclaimed Clandestin Les Revers Brut Nature and Clandestin Les Grandes Lignes Brut Nature—all vibrant interpretations of the Champagne terroir. An artisanal approach that gives birth to champagnes of great finesse.
