CLAIR BRUNO Corton Charlemagne 2023

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Burgundy White

€210,00 / 75cl inc. VAT

Vinous Tasting Note

The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has an enticing bouquet with lemon curd, fresh orange pith and candlewax scents that blossom with aeration. Boasting wonderful balance and composure on the palate, this fans out beautifully. I commented that it reminded me of the CC from DRC, not knowing that theirs is located just above Bruno Clair's. Superb.

About the Producer

Domaine Bruno Clair, an essential reference in Burgundy, spreads its vines between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The estate's history is intimately linked to that of the Clair family, as Bruno Clair founded this site in 1979, building on a legacy passed down by his father, Bernard, and his grandfather, Joseph Clair, founder of the famous Domaine Clair-Daü in Marsannay. It is said that Joseph was a pioneer in the massal selection of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, a tradition that continues to this day. Domaine Bruno Clair particularly distinguishes itself in the expression of the great terroirs of Gevrey-Chambertin, producing wines of great finesse. Among the estate's jewels are prestigious appellations such as the Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru and the Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru. The estate is also renowned for its Gevrey-Chambertin, notably the highly prized Clos Saint-Jacques, as well as its Savigny-les-Beaune La Dominode. The wines of Domaine Bruno Clair are distinguished by their balance, elegance, and aromatic complexity, making each cuvée a vibrant ambassador of its appellation. Among the most sought-after cuvées are Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru, Domaine Bruno Clair Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, and Domaine Bruno Clair Clos-Saint-Jacques—useful benchmarks for understanding the identity of the house.
