About the Producer

The Egly-Ouriet House, based in Ambonnay, is one of the finest names in Champagne. This family-run house, established after the Second World War, has risen to the top thanks to an uncompromising approach to terroir. Francis Égly, a passionate winemaker, embodies the spirit of the Egly-Ouriet House and crafts champagnes of rare depth and complexity. His meticulous work in the vineyard and the cellar allows the typicity of each plot to shine brilliantly. The House possesses a magnificent heritage of old vines, notably in the Grands Crus of Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay. Patient aging in the bottle is another key to the Egly-Ouriet style, allowing the wines to gain finesse and intensity. Among the iconic cuvées are the Grand Cru Brut Millésime, the Grand Cru Brut "Tradition," and the Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru Brut, not to mention the rare Coteaux Champenois Ambonnay Rouge "Cuvée des Grands Côtes" Vieilles Vignes. Among the most sought-after cuvées are Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru Brut Millésime, Egly-Ouriet 'Tradition' Grand Cru Brut, and Egly-Ouriet Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru Brut—useful benchmarks for understanding the house's identity.
