Château history

Domaine Lafarge Vial was born from the meeting of Burgundian expertise and the distinct character of Beaujolais crus. The story begins with Domaine Lafarge, founded in the Côte de Beaune at the beginning of the 19th century by the family of the same name. Over the generations, the vineyard expanded, notably enriched by a plot of Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes.
In 1978, Frédéric Lafarge took over the management of the family estate. He infused it with a new dynamic, guided by a respect for nature. This approach led, in 2000, to the conversion of the entire production to biodynamics. Building on this experience, Frédéric Lafarge partnered with his wife, Chantal Vial-Lafarge, to create a new four-hectare vineyard on the lands of Chiroubles and Côte de Brouilly. Thus, Domaine Lafarge Vial was born, producing red wines from the Gamay and Pinot Noir grape varieties.
