At Domaine de Vaccelli, the red wines display a beautiful freshness and vibrant fruit. The cuvées express a fine texture, present yet silky tannins, and balanced acidity. One often finds notes of red and black fruits, with a minerality typical of the granites of Ajaccio. The white wines, for their part, offer a full-bodied palate and beautiful aromatic complexity, with a persistent finish.
Domaine de Vaccelli, perched on the heights of Ajaccio, is the expression of the work of Alain Courrèges, a winemaker driven by a passion for his Corsican terroir. The estate's history is one of returning to one's roots, of a desire to reveal the potential of family land.
In the early 1990s, Alain Courrèges took over the estate and began a process of parcel selection. He converted the farm to organic agriculture, with the ambition of producing wines that reflect the identity of this unique terroir. The estate stretches across granitic hillsides, where generous sunshine is tempered by sea breezes. This privileged location contributes to the distinctiveness of the wines. The estate's commitment to respecting the environment is reflected in its cuvées, some of which, like Granit, highlight the mineral expression of the terroir.
