Vinous Tasting Note

Apple and a deep nutty quality on the nose. Full, ripe and intensely flavored; ripe, dense and fairly dry. A creamy, full Champagne, if not quite as complex and compelling as a bottle I tried a year ago.

About the Producer

The Champagne Bruno Paillard estate has risen to the rank of a benchmark among independent Champagne houses. Founded in 1981 by Bruno Paillard, a visionary broker based in Reims, the house has focused on purity and elegance from its very inception. Today, Alice Paillard continues this family legacy with an approach that remains as precise and passionate as ever. The estate owns a vineyard of some thirty hectares, including prestigious plots classified as Grands Crus, notably on the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, with a particularly notable presence in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Bruno Paillard champagnes are distinguished by an extra-brut, or even zero-dosage style, which elevates the expression of the Champagne terroirs. Their finesse and ability to reveal the minerality of the great crus are particularly appreciated. Among the iconic cuvées are the Première Cuvée Extra Brut, the house's signature blend, as well as the Blanc de Blancs Vintage and the prestigious N.P.U. Nec Plus Ultra cuvée. These highly elegant champagnes are a true tribute to the Champagne terroir. Among the most sought-after cuvées are Bruno Paillard N.P.U. Nec Plus Ultra, Bruno Paillard Blanc de Blancs Vintage, and Bruno Paillard Première Cuvée, all of which serve as useful benchmarks for understanding the house's identity.
