Cristal Roederer Rosé Roederer Champagne 2002

Rosé

€1.950,00 / 150cl inc. VAT | Limited availability

The Cristal Rosé 2002 unfolds an aromatic complexity where candied citrus and notes of toasted bread mingle, signatures of a beautiful maturity. The palate, of great finesse, reveals a melted texture and a saline touch that give it an energetic length, testifying to the remarkable balance of this vintage.

Millésimes Tasting Note:

Salmon pink color with very shiny reflections and an incredible youth. Active, fine, and regular effervescence. Intense, rich, and captivating bouquet of red fruits and citrus zest combined with more complex notes reminiscent of cedar and spring sap. The aromas slowly evolve in the glass, ranging from a variety of dried fruits, from fresh almond to frangipane, ending with notes of Tarte Tatin, baked apple, and caramel. Upon tasting, one is immediately struck by the sweetness, silkiness, harmony of flavors, and fruit concentration. The attack is fruity and crunchy. Finesse and fruitiness intertwine to create a fleshy and melting whole that quickly gives way to candied citrus, dried fruits. The exceptional characteristics of the 2002 vintage have been literally captured in this 2002 Cristal Rosé, generous and indulgent, revealing a perfect balance between concentration and finesse, vinousness and freshness, intensity and refinement... Vinous Tasting Note

(a blend of 60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay; L031587L100418) Medium pink with a light copper hue. Strawberry, cherry skin and blood orange on the nose, with notes of brown butter and dried flowers adding complexity. Lush and creamy but not heavy, offering open-knit red berry and sappy citrus flavors and a deeper, buttery quality on the back end. Hangs on with attractive spiciness, a hint of candied orange and impressive, gently sweet persistence. I'd err on the side of youth with this alluring Champagne and drink it over the coming decade rather than bury it in the cellar.

Among the jewels are the Cristal Millésimé Brut and the Cristal Brut Rosé Millésimé, symbols of unparalleled craftsmanship. The Vintage Brut and the Brut Rosé Millésimé complete this offering, alongside more recent creations like the Collection 244 Brut, which testifies to the estate's spirit of innovation. More exclusive, the Coteaux Champenois "Hommage à Camille" reveals a rare parcel-based expression, elevating the diversity of the Champagne terroirs.
