About the Producer

The Champagne Deutz estate, founded in 1838 in Aÿ, is a historic Champagne house with an immediately recognizable style. Its founders, William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, defined from the outset a style combining elegance and finesse, which remains perceptible in the cuvées today. Now owned by the Roederer family, Champagne Deutz prospers under the leadership of Francis Rosset. Deutz champagnes are distinguished by a subtle balance between the structure of Pinot Noir and the delicacy of Chardonnay, offering an expression that is both harmonious and complex. The Brut Classic, the house's iconic cuvée, perfectly embodies the Deutz style with its fullness and balance. The house is also renowned for its vintage champagnes, including the Amour de Deutz Blanc de Blancs, which possesses great finesse. The William Deutz and Amour de Deutz Rosé cuvées also bear witness to the expertise and consistency of this great Champagne house. It is said that William Deutz was among the first to replant his vineyard after the phylloxera crisis, an act of faith that well illustrates the house's pioneering spirit. Among the most sought-after cuvées are the Deutz Amour de Deutz Blanc de Blancs Brut Millésimé, Deutz Cuvée William Deutz Brut Millésimé, and Deutz Brut Classic, all useful benchmarks for understanding the house's identity.
