Vinous Tasting Note

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has perhaps the most compelling bouquet amongst Bouzereau's whites: it is superbly defined and detailed, with crushed stone filtering through citrus fruit and just the faintest touch of reduction at play. The palate is wonderful and the acidity is razor-sharp. This is a little more malic than the Meursaults, tensile with an unmistakable energy on the finish. Superb.

About the Producer

About the Producer

Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils, an institution in Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune. The Bouzereau family has been rooted there for over two centuries, and Michel played a decisive role in propelling the estate to the rank of a benchmark in Burgundy. Today, Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau continues to showcase this family heritage with an increased sensitivity to the expression of the terroirs. The estate is renowned for its white wines of great finesse and remarkable precision. The Meursaults from Domaine Michel Bouzereau are particularly sought after, notably the Premiers Crus Les Genevrières, Les Charmes Dessus, and Les Tessons, which rival each other in elegance and complexity. We also appreciate the Puligny-Montrachet Premiers Crus Les Caillerets and Les Champs Gains, which perfectly illustrate the house's expertise. The estate also produces a remarkable Meursault Les Grands Charrons, as well as a Beaune Les Vignes Franches Premier Cru in red, not to mention the Bourgogne Côte d'Or cuvées in both white and Pinot Noir, which are ideal for discovering the Bouzereau style. Among the most closely followed cuvées are Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils Perrieres, Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils Les Genevrieres, and Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils Les Charmes Dessus—useful benchmarks for understanding the identity of the house.
