About the Producer

Domaine Matrot, a highly esteemed name in Meursault, embodies the history of a winemaking family firmly rooted in Burgundy. The estate’s history is intertwined with that of the Château d'Evelle, and Joseph Matrot already owned vines in the prestigious terroirs of Puligny-Montrachet and Blagny at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, Thierry Matrot manages this fifteen-hectare estate, spread across the Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, and Monthelie appellations. Domaine Matrot is renowned for its white wines of great elegance and precision—wines that reflect a family expertise passed down through generations. Among the flagship cuvées, one regularly finds the Meursault Charmes and the Puligny-Montrachet Les Chalumeaux, magnificent expressions of these exceptional terroirs. The estate also produces expressive red wines, such as the Blagny La Pièce Sous le Bois Premier Cru and a fruit-forward red Maranges. We also highly value the Domaine Matrot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, which brilliantly expresses the nobility of this great Burgundian grand cru. Among the most sought-after cuvées are Domaine Matrot Perrieres, Domaine Matrot Meursault, and Domaine Matrot Charmes, which serve as useful benchmarks for understanding the house's identity.
