Vinous Tasting Note

Full dark red with ruby tones. Stunningly pure aromas of purple fruits, violet and crushed rock. Wonderfully silky if a bit youthfully shy, conveying pronounced soil-driven salinity to the very intense flavors of blackberry, boysenberry and minerals. A classic example of the 2014 vintage at its best in its combination of richness, dimension and elegance. Finishes extremely long and aristocratic, with a rising crescendo of dark fruit and saline flavors and a major mass of sweet, tongue-saturating tannins.

About the Producer

Domaine Méo-Camuzet, a shining star of Vosne-Romanée, illuminates the Côte de Nuits. Its history is linked to Étienne Camuzet, a politician from the Côte-d'Or, whose legacy endures thanks to Jean-Nicolas Méo. The latter instills a style that is both modern and respectful of Burgundian traditions, placing the estate among the most sought-after. Méo-Camuzet wines are distinguished by their depth and their ability to reflect the expression of the terroir, offering a vibrant interpretation of the nuances of Burgundy. Among the iconic cuvées are prestigious Grand Crus such as Clos de Vougeot and Richebourg, symbols of power and elegance. The Premier Crus Les Chaumes, Aux Brûlées, Au Cros Parantoux, and Aux Boudots also illustrate the estate's expertise. Also noteworthy is the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Clos Saint-Philibert, a more accessible but no less seductive expression of this great estate. Legend has it that Étienne Camuzet once sold his wine to Parisian clientele directly at the National Assembly. Among the most closely followed cuvées are Méo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Méo-Camuzet Richebourg Grand Cru, and Méo-Camuzet Les Chaumes, useful benchmarks for understanding the identity of the house.
